Invent and Patent

If you have new and fascinating idea then submit it to the event coordinator before March 30 and register for this event. On the day of the competition you will have to make a presentation to the jury. Students who have already filed a patent are also eligible to participate. They are also required to make presentation to the jury. The most unique idea will be declared winner in the competition. All new ideas submitted to this competition will be taken-up for patent filing.

Rules
  • Team size may vary from 1 to 4
  • Each team will be given 5 minutes to make the presentation.
  • Presentation should cover three points – What is new in the idea?, What is the invention step? and What is the industrial application?
  • You must bring your own laptop to make the presentation.

  • Each member of the team must register individually on the online registration portal and pay the fee.
  • Upon completing individual registration, approach the event coordinator and submit your team details.

Learn to Publish

Research is carried out by systematically studying the existing materials, content, literature about a particular topic with a purpose to determine or establish facts and derive new conclusions.

Learn to Publish activity will provide an opportunity to students to present their findings about a particular topic. The event will be also students in improving their writing skills, communication skills and reasoning ability.

Participating teams will be required to make a presentation about any topic to the jury. Based on the presentation, best paper presentation award will be declared.

Rules
  • A team can have maximum 3 members.
  • Students must submit their research papers to event coordinator before March 30
  • Presentation time will be 10 minutes
  • Maximum 15 slides are allowed.
  • Use plain background in the slides with simple font.
  • Do not clutter the slides with too much content
  • Minimum font size is, for headings – 24 pts., text – 18 pts.

Blind Date

Participants will have to identify a series of ingredients presented to them, whilst Blind Folded. There will be around 10 – 15 ingredients to be identified within a given timeframe. Participant who identifies the maximum number of ingredients will be the winner.

Rules
  • It is an individual event
  • Identification must be done by touch sense only.
  • Participant cannot use any other form of sense available to him/her.
  • Tampering of the blind fold / prompting will lead to disqualification.

Fold Away

This is a napkin folding competition. Participants will be tested for their napkin folding skills, within a timeframe of 3 minutes. The participant who presents the maximum number of folded napkins will be the winner.

  • Time duration for folding the napkins is 3 minutes
  • Non-compliance with the rules will lead to disqualification.

  • Decision of the judges will be final. Participating students/teams are strongly advised to refrain from discussing/arguing results with organizers, judges, coordinators etc.
