Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh has signed a MoU with Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) to launch an apprenticeship embedded BBA (Logistics) programme from the Academic Year 2020-21 . Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) has been working with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India to introduce skill embedded degree programmes in mainstream education.

The core focus of this unique 3-year BBA (Logistics) programme is to provide employability and skill development through on-the-job training in the form of paid industry apprenticeship in logistics sector as part of the curriculum. This programme will provide a combination of conceptual classroom learning and paid internship in the logistics industry. So far, there has been no formal educational programme in the country to address the skill gap in the logistics sector. The MOU has been signed keeping in mind this gap and the emerging scope.

The launch of this programme will not only provide opportunity to the students to get UG degree but also exposure in the diversified logistics sector through paid on-the-job trainings and final placement in sub-sectors like warehousing, transportation (land, air, marine and rail), supply chain, e-commerce etc.
