Chitkara University organised a workshop on Benefits and compliances of ESI

To promulgate Employee’s State Insurance Act, Chitkara University organised a workshop in which personnel’s from the Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) came and covered important aspects of safeguarding the interests of workers by creating a positive environment for employers.

Besides promoting the welfare of workers by implementing relevant laws, policies, programmes, schemes this initiative of the university to enroll every individual eligible employee under this has improved their job profile and prospects.

Industrial harmony can only be achieved when the objectives of employment and employability are interwoven with the goals of industrial development and national growth. Sh. Dev Vart Yadav, PRO ESIC HP, Sh. Sunil Bodh, Social Security officer, ESIC Baddi and Sh. Chhering Samphel, Social Security officer ESIC Nalagarh visited the campus on 19 Dec 2016 and told the employees about benefits of ESI.
They envisaged on integrated need based on social insurance scheme that would protect the interest of workers in contingencies such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent physical disablement, and death due to employment injury resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity. The Act also guarantees reasonably good medical care to workers and their immediate dependants.

This workshop was also beneficial in context to the recent decision of the Government, India to shift from a cash-dependent to a cashless economy. It further includes cashless super specialised treatment in a tie-up with private hospitals of Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula. Moreover, it will help in giving an ample number of benefits online.

Through this comprehensive Social Security Scheme design government is trying to accomplish the task of protecting the employees in the organised sector against the hazards and Chitkara University is all set in helping their employees to achieve a better standard of living. University strongly believes in supporting its employees and creating a happy, contented environment by fulfilling their desires and needs at work and boosting employee morale in the workplace.
