Phil and Ph.D degrees from Nuclear Science Laboratories, Punjabi University, Patiala, India, he boasts a remarkable 20-year career in teaching and research. Dr. Sharma has spearheaded crucial reforms to fortify administrative and examination systems, emphasising secrecy, transparency, and the digitalisation of student credentials on platforms like NAD/Digilocker.

His research, focusing on Atomic inner shell studies and X-ray fluorescence for environmental restoration, aligns with memberships in esteemed organisations like the Indian Society for Atomic and Molecular Physics (ISAMP), Indian Society for Radiation Physics (ISRP), and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). As the Registrar, Dr. Sharma actively contributes to the research group working on synchrotron radiations at RRCAT-Indore, delivering talks both in India and abroad.

Dr. Sharma’s impressive publication record includes a book, nine filed patents, and numerous research papers. Notable among his works is the development of ‘LSPICS,’ a computer program generating L sub-shell photo-ionisation cross-sections. His conference contributions range from alignment studies for tungsten to the theoretical angular dependence of L3 sub-shell X-rays.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Sharma has guided one thesis and received the “Leadership Excellence Award” from Chitkara University in 2017 and 2018. His administrative roles, including Assistant Dean of Student Welfare and Dean of Examination, underscore his commitment to holistic student development. Currently serving as the Registrar and holding the position of a visiting professor at Telkom University, Indonesia, Dr. Ajay Sharma stands as a prominent figure in academia and research.
