Chitkara University and GMSH Collaborate for Anti-Corruption Awareness

In a significant initiative to combat corruption, Chitkara College of Nursing, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, partnered with the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, Chandigarh, to organise an enlightening session on International Anti-Corruption Day.

Themed “Uniting the world against corruption,” the event aimed at creating awareness about corruption-related challenges and fostering a collective commitment to combat this societal menace.

As part of the initiative, fourth-year B.Sc Nursing students showcased a compelling play that effectively communicated the various forms of corruption prevalent in diverse settings. The play not only shed light on corrupt practices but also emphasised preventive measures and disseminated information on anti-corruption helplines. The students, through their insightful performances, underscored how corruption, being a criminal offence, poses a significant threat to the pillars of democracy.

Renuka, Senior Nursing Officer at GMSH, Sector 16, Chandigarh, graced the event and provided valuable insights to the discussions. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 8, focusing on decent work and economic growth, the initiative also resonated with the principles of National Education Policy 1, emphasising multidisciplinary and holistic education.

Chitkara College of Nursing, through this collaborative effort, reaffirms its commitment to nurturing socially responsible healthcare professionals and contributing to the larger goal of building a corruption-free society. The event successfully blended education with advocacy, empowering the future generation of nurses to champion ethical practices in healthcare.
