Published on July 30, 2025 | 4 views

In a rapidly evolving world driven by innovation, understanding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) has become essential for aspiring technologists, entrepreneurs, and researchers. Reflecting this vision, the Office of Patent Facilitation, Licensing & Consultancy, along with the IEEE Student Branch and Career Advancement Services, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, organised an insightful session on IPR titled “IPR and You Building a Future Through Innovation and Protection.”

The session was led by Sameer Goel, Senior Vice President, Business Growth and Strategy at TT Consultants, a seasoned expert in the field. Through his engaging talk, Sameer Goel offered students a deep dive into the evolving IPR ecosystem and highlighted how innovation can be strategically protected, monetised, and applied to create long-term impact in various industries.

Focusing on the convergence of technology, law, and business, the session introduced students to the core concepts of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. It also helped them understand the strategic role IPR plays in career growth, entrepreneurship, and global business competitiveness.

More than just a technical introduction, the session positioned IPR as a powerful enabler of innovation, offering students a fresh perspective on the value of their ideas and how to safeguard them in an increasingly knowledge-driven economy. The discussion also opened up pathways for those interested in exploring IPR as a rewarding career domain with international relevance.

The event underlines Chitkara University’s commitment to holistic education and career readiness by providing platforms that connect classroom learning with real-world application. By familiarising students with the intricacies of intellectual property, the university continues to empower them to innovate responsibly and protect their creative contributions on a global stage.
