Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh in association with Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) organized two days workshop on “Emerging Applications of Digital Image Processing (EADIP) 2018 with the theme ‘Satellite Imaging’ on 30th-31st March 2018.

The sessions were delivered by Dr. Hamendra Singh Gusain & Dr. Kamal Kant Singh, Scientist ‘E’, SASE, DRDO, Dr. Reet Kamal Tiwari, Assistant Professor, IIT, Ropar and Mr. Dhiraj Kumar Singh, Researcher, SASE, DRDO.

The workshop was focused on fundamental research areas such as image interpretation, computing and deep learning models to design innovative solutions in a real-world scenario using satellite imagery. It provided promising frameworks for solving challenges in real-world scenarios such as climate monitoring, coastal zone monitoring, agriculture monitoring, map compiling, natural hazards analysis etc.

The event observed a massive turnaround of faculty members, M.E. scholars and PhD research scholar from departments of ECE, CSE, CE, AS and CURIN.
