It was yet another effort by Chitkara University Himachal for bridging the gap between classroom learning and the real world application. The students of Chitkara School of Engineering and Technology (CSET) visited Secure Meters Ltd., the organization striving to find new ways to use energy more efficiently, by monitoring and reporting consumption.

The students were from the First year of Engineering from Computer Science and Electronics and communication vertical.

The students took a tour of the facilities and also gained insights into the functioning of the latest machinery. They learned that at Secure Meters, they empower people to make a real difference by reducing the energy they use. This helps them to reduce their impact on the environment and to safeguard energy supplies. The students were told about the company and its working model and what techniques they adopt to save energy.

“The visit proved very useful to all of us and we understood the nitty-gritty of the manufacturing process. Chitkara University Himachal is a great facilitator in bridging the gap between what we learn in the classroom and what is actually implemented in the industry,” said a student.

The visit offered a greater insight on the overall manufacturing of energy efficient meters. The industry visits broaden the outlook of students with exposure to different workforce’s from different industries.

Chitkara University Himachal believes in grooming its students and providing them industry exposure so they are industry ready when they graduate.
