Virtual Alumni Session held on September 25th, 2021

The next webinar in the Alumni Webinar Series was conducted by Alumni, Abhinav Dogra CSE 2008 Batch, an Entrepreneur, CO-founder of Softlogy Pvt Ltd. In addition to it, he is a CEO of FAEducation (Education Consultation, Career Counselling and Education Abroad).
He facilitated a webinar on “Global Opportunities in Engineering Education”.

In conversation with his successors he expressed his gratitude towards Chitkara University for how he was given the opportunity through AIESEC to explore his potential that transformed his life. He talked through the strong points of going overseas for higher education. Moreover, He enlisted the major destinations for higher education along with abundant opportunities obtainable there. He discussed about the stem structure and informed the students that STEM is an education curriculum that focuses immensely on the subjects of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Adding to it, he exchanged his observations in relation to the job profiles and major courses available along with scholarship details. He discussed with the budding Chitkarians that proper planning and strategies are required to have a prosperous future in abroad. The planning includes budget,Country – Status/Residence, work permits, job market (part/full –time),course selection (PGDiploma, MSC, MBA),language requirements ,intake etc. He concluded the webinar by encouraging the students to build a strong profile for better prospects abroad.

Virtual Alumni Session held on August 17th, 2021

The next webinar in the Alumni Webinar Series ‘Blueprint to Management Consulting’ was conducted by Mr. Anuj Modgil, an Alumni of CSE 2011 Batch, currently working as a Management Consultant at KPMG, Gurgaon. After engineering, Mr. Anuj completed his MBA in Operations & Supply Chain from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. He is also pursuing his Ph.D. from Chitkara University, Punjab.

He shared with the audience that his life has changed immensely because of the opportunities provided by Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh during his engineering. His experience of working on technologies like SAP, Blue Yonder, Oniqua, GEP NEXXE, Oracle, Salesforce, Siebel, Alteryx, SPSS and R Studio gave the students an insight into the ever evolving and dynamic technology world. A discussion ensued on the importance of target operating model and value chain analysis and towards the end of the talk, he guided the students as to how they can utilize their precious time and build their skill set for a role in the Management Consulting space.

Virtual Alumni Session held on July 10th, 2021

The next webinar conducted in the Alumni Webinar Series was ‘Yoga-a tool for coping up with uncertainty’ by Mr. Love and Mr. Kush Dhaka, Alumni of CSE 2010 Batch, and teachers of Art of Living. They have conducted various sessions as a life coach across the country in various corporates and renowned educational institutions including Renault, Idea, Samsung, Tech Mahindra, IMT-Ghaziabad, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Chitkara University, Guru Nanak Dev University, MCM DAV College Chandigarh, TIME Institute, Bulls Eye and many more.

They commenced the session with the motto: “Recharge, strengthen, and awaken your true self” and shared with the audience that the form of Yoga practiced at Art of Living ensures that the mind, body and spirit get energized. In their talk they also emphasized that Yoga can be easily integrated in our daily lives leading to our overall well-being. The highlight of the talk was how meditation assists in channeling our energy in a positive way. It is rightly said that meditation provides a universal solution to life’s commonest problems.

Virtual Alumni Session held on September 22nd, 2020 The next in the series of Alumni Webinars was Ms. Anumeha Verma’s Webinar an Alumni of CSE 2011 Batch. She is currently working as a Business Analyst at Deloitte. In an extensive and insightful session with the students Ms. Anumeha was grateful to her Alma Mater for recognizing and tapping her potential and altering the course of her life. She talked about plethora of opportunities in the field of computer science and in a freewheeling discussion she reiterated the fact that an average student can achieve his /her dreams if he/ she is confident and perseverant. She shared her journey from sitting on the back benches of her classroom to Infosys to IMT, Hyderabad and to finally working in her dream company- Deloitte. Her perseverance and skill set makes her stand tall and successful in the realm of the corporate world. The takeaway for the students from the session was that “sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning”.

Virtual Alumni Session held on the 24th of September, 2020

Connecting all the way with us from New Zealand was our very own Alumni, Ms. Manvi Tandon, an Alumni of CSE 2011 Batch. She is currently working as a Data Analyst at Intellihub Limited, Auckland, New Zealand and was the facilitator of a webinar on “Latest Data Tools and Technologies”. It was an eye opening session as she unraveled the box of job opportunities that are available in the market for CSE students.

In her much poised, enriching and enlightening session with the students of our university, she became nostalgic and gave credit to her Alma Mater for giving her opportunities that helped her succeed in life. She highlighted the opportunities available in the job market for the engineering graduates and touched upon the visible changes in the recruitment process in the ever evolving and dynamic technological world. It was an engaging session where budding Chitkarians asked her about the latest technologies and skills required to get absorbed in the market.

She shared with the students that Chitkara offers a unique blend of distinguished faculty, professional values, innovation, technical training and detailed curriculum that helped her in exploring her potential in the true sense of the word.

Aaditya Khanna and Nitish Khanna virtual alumni session held on August 21st, 2020

In these challenging times, hand holding has become the need of the hour and this was exemplified by two of our Alumni Aaditya Khanna and Nitish Khanna in the CAN – Alumni Webinar Series conducted on the 21st of August.

Aaditya Khanna is a Technology Analyst at Infosys, Chandigarh and Nitish Khanna is a Premier Support Engineer at Cloudera, Chennai.

In their webinar on “Transition from Campus to Corporate Life”, the Alumni touched upon the demands of the IT Industry in the times of/ post COVID- 19 and bridging the industry academia gap in unequivocal words. They shared their Industry experience and talked about the latest technologies and platforms being used in IT companies. The talk also veered around making the students industry ready by equipping them with a repertoire of skills in complete consonance with the demand of today’s Corporate World. They discussed threadbare about the challenges which a freshly graduated student encounters in the transition from campus to corporate life. The Alumni gave a deeper insight into the job market and placement scenario coupled with a discussion on how hard work and destiny work in tandem and why one should not be disappointed if rejected in an interview. They emphasized to stay positive and to keep learning and growing in the ever changing, fast paced and dynamic corporate world.

It was an engaging session where budding Chitkarian’s asked the Alumni about the latest technologies and skills required to be absorbed in the market.

Abhinav Sharma virtual alumni session held on September 8th, 2020

In our constant endeavour to make the transition of our students from campus to Corporate smooth, Mr. Abhinav Sharma, Business Manager at Marketing Hook and an Alumni of CSE 2012 Batch, was delighted to deliver an online session to the Students of his alma mater on “How to start preparing for Interviews”.

He shared experiences of his own transition from university to the industry. In a very candid interaction, he touched upon the current needs of the industry vis- avis the global pandemic. He shared how communication and knowledge go hand in hand and thwarted certain misconceptions that how an interview is not a rejection but a selection process.

Finally, he requested the students to incorporate 3 things: honesty, humility and a smile on their face for acing the interview process. Mr. Abhinav reiterated that technical acumen along with self-confidence is the key to success and that Chitkarians had it in them to excel anywhere in the world.

Disha Ghai virtual alumni session held on August 27th, 2020

In our constant endeavor to make the transition of our students from campus to corporate smooth, Ms. Disha Ghai a Certified Image Consultant & Soft-skills trainer and an Alumni of the CSE 2010 Batch, was invited for an online session with the students to underscore the importance of Image Management and Soft Skills in today’s scenario. She has been delivering Image Enhancement Programs and Soft Skills workshops to Educational Institutes, Hospitals, HR Consulting Firms & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) Programs.

Ms. Disha was the facilitator for the webinar on “Success-Interviews & Beyond”. During the session she assisted the students in understanding and implementing various aspects of Image Management. She also highlighted the importance of possessing a well-rounded personality to sail through the interview process. She gave a deeper insight into as to how Soft Skills complement the technical skills, which refers to a person’s knowledge and occupational skills. She also told them to be eloquent in their speech, poised in their demeanor and firm in their convictions.

The session inspired and motivated the students to not just be dreamers but achievers.
